More Painting

 Jordan and I decided to have  date night.....

painting at our new house!  We had a good time talking and painting.  Honestly, I don't know how my mother-in-law does it!  She has done a majority of the painting in our house, and we are so incredibly thankful!!!  Friday afternoon and night I painted the master bedroom while Jordan painted the ceiling and girls' bedroom.

I love how peaceful the master bedroom is with that color!

Robin went over to the house after work and helped in the boys' room.

By the way, these walls soak up a ton of paint!  I had to use two gallons of paint to cover these walls.

Thank you Grandma Jeanie for coming over on Saturday to help in painting the girls' room.


We are getting closer.  These rooms are just so large with high ceilings.  It's taking longer than I thought.  I mentioned to Jordan on Saturday that perhaps we would be moved in by May Crowning.  I think hearing that comment motivated him to paint all the ceilings upstairs except the bathroom.  He is determined to get us moved in sooner and have our house sold in the spring.

Projects for March:  Finish trim work on main level
                                  Finish painting upstairs
                                  Order my bookcases (I am so excited)
                                  Order the fireplace (I have dreamed of one since I was a child)
                                  Get new carpeting for the living room and toy/school room
                                  Install new flooring throughout house except for basement and bathrooms

New find:   I finally found the bedding for the girls' room on clearance at Walmart.  I saved close to $20 dollars!


                                 

Can We Paint?

Well, we thought Jordan was done with mudding, sanding, and texturing the walls.

Once he saw what the walls looked like in the girls' room after we painted, he was a bit disappointed.  It changed his plans on Saturday with painting ceilings upstairs.  He set to work on texturing the girls' room and our bedroom.  I can't wait to see the rooms completely done!!!

Happy St. Valentine's Day!  Philomena was wearing a dress matching our godchild.  Thank you so much!  She looked so cute in it!

Out little teddy bear is turning one this week!  He opened his first present from his godfather and family.

During Lent, the children are placing rose petals in front of Our Sorrowful Mother for all their little sacrifices and good deeds they perform.  

This week we will focus more on giving alms.

 Magdalene was inspired by the little praying girl she painted.

Mena is coloring her own Lenten map this year.  She jumped ahead and wanted to celebrate Easter!

 Here is Philomena's little praying angel that inspires her to pray more on her knees.  Thank you, Grandpa Dalen and Grandma Jeanie for letting Philomena keep your angel!

 We worked on a heart pizza inspired by a Daniel Tiger book and cartoon episode.

 The colors will be Mayflower blue on three walls and one country white wall.

We had fun painting with them, but I think now it's time for the adults to finish painting.  Hopefully, we will be done by the first week of March.

Jacobs Family "I Love You" Day

So I have a weakness for watching shows on large families.  They intrigue me.  The mothers and fathers have such patience, kindness, and honestly, they are just plain fun to watch.  Jordan has joined me in the large family show watching night.  The family I have really come to like lately is the Bates family in Tennessee.  They had a show way back about their family's "I Love You" day.   Bingo!  We need a family "I Love You" day, too!

We could have picked our wedding day for the special day, but it was more fun to pick the day that started Jordan and Christina.  We announced to our children we would celebrate a special day to show how much we love each other.  They were excited!  We hid treats in their stockings and made huggy Valentines for them.  They were so excited when they saw their huggy Valentine.  Magdalene really wanted me to make hers, but the art talent in the family belongs to Jordan.  Since it was a  kind request, I made her Valentine, and she was really touched when she saw it.

The best part was Jordan was working from home that day, because of the blizzard conditions outside.

They were very excited on I Love You Day Eve!  

They folded towels for me as a surprise.  It was really cute and touching.

Daddy brought home pizza the night before.  

Huggy Valentines were ready, and donuts were hidden in their stockings for their morning treats.  Daddy also brought home gummy bears and cookies.  We had a lot of sugar that day!
