We had a special week at the Jacobs' household this past week.
We celebrated St. Patrick and St. Joseph's Feast Days!
It was a hard week with Daddy working until seven each night. We missed him! Daddy did a great job with the auditors while his boss was away on vacation in Mexico. Daddy will have to work another two long days this coming week, but we are just so happy it is not normal routine in our household.
Now on with the pictures!
Tobias enjoys placing a blanket over his head and pretending to be "St. Jofef"!
When Magdalene heard we were going to celebrate St. Joseph's feast day, she quickly assembled her princesses and princes for the special occasion around St. Joseph.
Belle was chatting away with Mother Mary and Baby Jesus on decorations for the party.
The princes and their mother ate supper with St. Joseph.
I had to capture all this imagination taking place. It was pretty exciting to hear the story lines.
Now St. Patrick's Day....well we had fun celebrating with good friends from church on Sunday. They were so kind to invite us over for delicious corned beef and cabbage. We ended the night with ice cream sundaes topped with her family's famous chocolate sauce. Yummy!
We started the next morning with green milk and green eggs. Hmmmm....it didn't look very green, because my natural dyes didn't do a very good job. Next year I might just use the other stuff.
We got this idea about using sacrifice beans for Lent this year. We call them kind beans right now, and decided to decorate our jar with a picture of St. Joseph and baby Jesus. On Laetare Sunday, the kids will see their hard work and kindness turn into yummy jelly beans to eat.
Hi cutie pie!!! Philomena gets lots of beans for being so cute and patient with her siblings.
On Wednesday, we ended our family novena to St. Joseph by visiting our parish, St. Philomena. We finished our prayers in the church, and celebrated with milkshakes in the basement.
Daddy couldn't join us in church that morning, but we tried to fix him a good and funny meal. Now the meal doesn't look very appetizing, but they actually had a good flavor. They're called, "Thanks for Bringing Home the Bacon" mini pizzas. I did make some bacon to garnish the mini pizzas, but I dropped the bowl accidentally, and well, Percy got to eat that. Instead we topped Daddy's pizzas with leftover deer.
You are in our prayers. Please keep us in your prayers. We miss you all so much!
