Our Baby Boy's Name

His name is Francis Joseph Jacobs!


In a future post, we will explain the reason for the name.

Boy Names

I think we are ready to make the official announcement on baby boy Jacob's name.  Knowing the gender still did not make it any easier to come up with a name.  The past two weeks we have been saying his name, and we think it will be the name we stay with when we finally meet him!

But just for fun, I will post a list of names that did not make it this time around.

Xavier.

It was a serious contender for a name.  The name means "new house" and this whole year has been all about the new house!  Also, Jordan and I went to a shrine dedicated to St. Frances Xavier Cabrini in Colorado during our first time meeting.  Tobias also was baptized on her feast day.  We seriously considered this name....and I even had a former student that didn't ruin the name for me.  However, it didn't make the cut.


Vincent.

I have a baby cousin with this name.  It's such a nice, strong name.  Jordan really liked it, and my sister Brenda was born on St. Vincent Ferrer's feast day......however, something didn't ring with us about this name.


John.

It was Magdalene who came up with this name.  She had very good reasons to mention this name as well.  John was Jesus' beloved apostle.  However, John Joseph Jacobs....just too much.

Jordan Jr.

Well that name was never considered, but I thought I would just type that to be funny.

Sure, let's have a special "tea" party.

We were so proud of our little saint.  She posed so well for a present for Fr. Iscara, the priest who baptized her.

 We visited our neighbor to show her their costumes.

(By the way, she has memorized and recited Betty Ann's favorite psalm.  We are very impressed.  The Lord is my shepherd....I will keep her special recitation in my mind next month when I need to hear those words the most.)

St. Martin de Porres

Seriously, he loved being St. Martin.  This is one of the reasons why I love Glory Stories from Holy Heroes.  He really fell into his character, because of the audio drama.

Philomena was asked which saint she wanted to be.  "St. Philomena," was her response.  What a cutie!

Grandma started a guessing game after we prayed Litany of the Saints.

By the way, we look forward to seeing all the children dress up.  It's so much fun!

We played games, ate food, and just had a good time.  Hopefully tias can join us one year!
