Father's Day, Baby Chub, and Our Little Man

This year we spent Father's Day with some of Jordan's family.  It was a great way to honor the father figures in Jordan's life and our eldest children's godfather.

Tobias absolutely loves playing with Daddy's old dinosaurs.

Mommy's little Teddy bear!  I can't help myself.  I kiss his cheeks a lot!!!

Daddy's twin with a cute curl in front.

Daddy showed Magdalene how to roast a marshmallow...safely!

At Theodore's four month appointment, he was close to 17 lbs!  Our little baby is getting quite heavy these days.  We love all his chub.

Our precious little girl, on the other hand, is starting to lose her chub.  Oh, how I will miss seeing Philomena at this age.  I relish all the hugs I can sneak in when she's so busy being independent and saying, "I can do it myself."

She dropped dramatically in the weight percentile.  Surprisingly, she jumped in height!  I thought she would tend toward my short grandmother, Eduina, with being in the 16th percentile at 18 months.  However, she may be around my height or taller in the end.  She is now in the 55th percentile for height!

We had a Mommy, Mena, and Teddy date with Panera takeout.  I really wanted to take her inside, but it can be tricky when Theodore needs to eat.  She was so happy to get a treat.  I parked and we spent time together in the van.  It was so nice to hear her talk and have sweet conversations.

Tobias really surprised us this week.  Our chiropractor gave Tobias her sons' outside toy, and his response to her was, "No, thank you.  I have a lawnmower."  She then explained to him again that he could have the toy, and he said, "Oh, Valwarie, you can have my lawnmower."  We smiled and laughed!  What a sweet little boy.

I recently received the latest Landsend catalog.

Here is the school uniform!   Alves ladies, if you find any knee high green socks, please get some!  Nostalgic...just missing the clip cross tie.  Best part....it's on sale.  Jordan saw the look on my face when I saw it.  I love sales!

Spiritual Reading

I found this little book at the seminary a few months back.

This book was a recent gift from Jordan.  I love it so far!

The St. Joseph Holy Heroes cd also included a story on St. Katharine Drexel.  Magdalene was very touched by her story.  Listening to St. Katharine Drexel's story brought back memories of my own childhood.  I was thought for a few years that I had a calling to become a nun and serve the poor.  The combination of the commercials on TV of helping the poor in Africa and being around the Sisters of Our Lady of Lourdes inspired this thought in my mind.  Although I was not called to become a nun, I have a deep love and admiration for this vocation.

At the moment, Magdalene enjoys dressing up as Mother Mary and others saints around the house.  She is joined by her little brother, and he plays St. Joseph.  Magdalene did mention to me that she would like be an acrobat.  Oh Magdalene!

This prayer card was given to me by my sisters.  Although I was not called to the religious life, perhaps my sisters will have the calling.  My sisters possibly  becoming Sisters!  I love the idea!  :)
